About Univention - Univention Summit

Univention, headquartered in Bremen, provides open source solutions for the efficient management of digital identities and the integration of applications. Openness, scalability, and ease of use are at the core of Univention’s products, enabling digital sovereignty for user organizations through control over their own data and identities as well as the independent design of their IT infrastructures.

Nubus is our central Identity & Access Management solution, featuring a web portal for easy access to applications and the integration of applications via standardized interfaces and integration packages.

UCS@school is our tailored solution for the education sector, providing school authorities with an optimized platform. It enables the easy provision of services such as learning management systems, email, cloud, and office applications via dedicated school portals. Users can be automatically imported from state-wide directories and centrally managed.

Univention Corporate Server (UCS) is an open integration platform that includes Nubus and its own App Center and enables the centralized management of heterogeneous IT domains. UCS can be operated both as a software appliance in an organization’s own data center and in the cloud.

Our solutions are used by numerous federal states, municipalities, and districts, as well as public administrations and companies across the entire DACH region.

CEO Univention

Peter studied Physics and Psychology and was working in various fields of research and consulting before founding Univention. He has been involved with Linux since 1994 and has become well known as the author of a user guide about Debian GNU/Linux. Today he is leading the Univention management team and is responsible for the strategic direction of Univention. In his capacity as Chairman of the OSB Alliance, he has worked in both politics and business to promote a European perspective of digitalization that is based on openness and trust.

Daniela Grebe has been responsible for the product management team at Univention since the end of 2024. With a strong background in data-driven product strategy, B2B software and machine learning, she focuses on strategies and products that help organizations maintain their digital sovereignty in a world where data and infrastructure are increasingly monopolized. With her interdisciplinary experience, from AI-based solutions to the gaming industry, she brings creative problem solving and new perspectives to product development. Her goal: to translate complex technologies into practical, value-adding solutions.

Already while studying computer sciences at the University of Bielefeld, Ingo has been working on the deployment of Open Source infrastructures in small and medium-sized enterprises. From 2000 until 2004 he was Managing Director of a software consulting company. He joined Univention in 2004, initially working in product development. From 2006 onwards, he was responsible for Professional Services. He has been VP Platform & Tecnology team since January 2022.

Stefanie Schneider studied physics at the University of Bremen before specializing in IT and open source software projects at Univention. She has been with the company since 2018, initially as an Open Source Software Consultant and later as a Team Lead. Since 2026, she has been responsible for all Professional Services at Univention as Head of Professional Services.

In her work in Professional Services and direct customer engagement, her particular focus is on creating the foundations for successful projects, inspiring customers in the long term, and jointly developing tailored technical solutions.

Product Manager Education Strategy, Univention

Michael Repke is responsible at Univention as Product Manager for the strategy in the education sector. With many years of experience in the IT industry and the public sector—from studying to become a teacher, to working in youth support at the Berlin Youth Welfare Office, to digitizing various projects as a consultant at the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Brandenburg—he combines pedagogical and education policy expertise with technical know-how.
