opsi (Open System Integration) is an Open Source client management system which can manage Windows, Linux and macOS clients. The core component is a Linux server taking care of the OS installation (Windows/Linux), the distribution of software, the inventory of hardware and software, as well as patch management on the clients. In addition, opsi offers modules with additional features, e.g. license management, UEFI and secure boot support.
opsi manages clients at multiple locations in one single administration interface. The configuration is stored in a central location, the repositories for the clients’ software packages can be located in different places. opsi is used across all industries, e.g. in companies, in public administration, and in schools, in fact, everywhere that many Windows, Linux, and macOS clients have to be administered—from a dozen to several thousand clients.
For school boards and institutions in the educational sector, the platform ppop (pool of pedagogical opsi packages) is available to exchange special opsi packages.
opsi is developed and maintained by the company uib gmbh from Mainz. They also create ready-made installation packages, offer professional support, and training.
