Schleswig-Holstein: Life Without a Directory Service is Possible, but (Almost) Pointless.
In the first part, Sven Thomsen, CIO of the state administration of Schleswig-Holstein, will explain why the state is modernizing its existing directory service and will also be switching to an open source solution as part of this process. Among other things, Sven Thomsen will explain the state’s requirements for a federated directory service.
In the second part, Alexander Graefe, lead architect in the new SH – Dataport directory service project, will provide an insight into the ongoing project. The focus here will be on the challenges of replacing an existing Microsoft Active Directory with an implementation centered around the Univention Corporate Server (UCS) solution. Alexander Graefe will show how the interaction of the central infrastructure services can continue to be ensured if a coordinated component is replaced and how Univention can provide support here.
